SHE IS NOW NO MORE.
She's one whom all did love, Amiable and sincere, More meet for heaven above, To dwell in Jesu*' love, Than to inhabit here.
Althoxxgh her friends did weep, And pray she might be spared To fill her wonted seat ; Friends at the door to meet, Such joys she often shared.
But, no ! she's gone from earth, The Jordan she has cross'd ; Where saints ill glorious stand — Safe in Iminanuel's land — A blood-besprinkled host.
She cannot come to xxs — Nor wouhTwe wish her back ; We know that she is well — Better than tongue can tell — No joys she there shall lack.
But we to her may go ; May her removal then Be blessing in disguise, And let us not despise The warning God has given
To cause our souls to rise, To join hers soon in heav'n. J. H. P.
