The Otago Goldfields.
♦ The following additional reflations for the " Otago Goldfield" vjere published in the last issue of the. Provincial Government ' Gazette..' " The Warden may require any applicant for a lease to appear personally before him at the bearing or adjourned hearing of his application and to give evidence upon oath and if the Warden is satisfied that the applicant is in respect of the land applied for an agent or a servant of or a trustee for any other person or that the land is not applied for bona fide for the use and occupation and benefit of the applicant in his own proper person or that the applicant has entered into an agreement or understanding to permit any other person to acquire by purchase or otherwise the land in respect of which such applicant's interest therein or the usufruct thereof or if the applicant shall fail to appear after notice served upon him or upon any agent who may have lodged his application the Warden shall refuse tlie application and shall deal with any application for the same land ac though the application bo refused had never been made. " Objections thafc the land is not applied for bona fide for the use ocsupation and benefit of the applicant must be made in writing and lodged within the time aud in the. manner provided for other objections bufc the Warden may on cause shown receive such objections at; any time and the Warden may award to the objector and his witnesses or the applicant and hia witnesses as the case may be reasonable! costs and expenses in supporting ©*■** rebutting the objection as in th© ease of otker objections and payment thereof shall be enforced iv the same manner "
