Wednesday, 10th May. Present — The Mayor (in the chair), and Crs. Jones, Stewart, Moses, and Duncau. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. A letter was read from the Commissioner of Police, refusing to grant a road through the Police paddock. It was moved by Cr. Duncan, and seconded by Cr. Moses—" That further application be made, and further explanations be given." The motion was carried. Mr Robert Thomson wrote to the Council asking for permission to make a crossing iv front of his premises. Permission was granted, Mr F. Grant wrote to the Council asking permission to open a drain through the footpath iv High -street. Permission was granted. ACCOUNTS. The following accounts were passed for payment : — Robert Thomson, £2 9s ; George Jones, £2 9s ; W. Taylor, £1 12s 3d ; Peter Jones, £11 10s; William Tough, £1 9s 3d : Robert Thomson, £15 18s; Joseph Mackay, £6 3s 6d. SPENSER STREET CROSSING. It was moved by Cr. Moses that the crossing in Spenser-street be repaired. Left to the Works Committee. REGISTRATION OF DOGS. It was resolved that the clerk take steps to summon all parties who have not registered their dogs. This was all the business.
