TO CONTRACTORS. rriENDERS are invited for the supply of J_ four hundred and sixty-six (466) twenty feet, and thirty (3 .)) twenty five feet long telegraph poles, to be delivered at Balclutha. or any point on telegraph line between B.iiclutha and Otaria Creek. Also, for the supply of five hundred and sevenfcy-six (576) twenty feet, and sixty-one (6.1) twenty five feet long telegraph poles, to be delivered at Invcrcfirj^ill or Halfway Bash, or any point on telegraph line between Invercargiil and Otaria. Creek. The poles to be sawn from the heart of Totara. The poles to be of the following dimensions :— Twenty-five (25) feet, and twenty (20) ft=et long (in numbers -ab f >ve i>iven), to be eight (8) inches square at the butt, and six (6) inches square at the top. The poles to be sound, straight, and free from sliakes, knots and sap. N. B. — No pole will be accepted which contains the hast sap. The pul«s to be delivered wit iiin 2 months of the date of signing the contract. Tenders are to specify the price per pole as per size given, and puiut to be delivered at. Each tender to be accompanied by a deposit often pounds (£10), as a guarantee of good faith, which will be forfeited by any tenderer should he refuse to take up his tender in the event of its being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to became bond for the due performance of the ontract, in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect signed by the two proposed sureties.
