WASTE LANDS BOARD.
The usual weekly meeting of the Waste Lands Board was held on Wednesday: Present— the Chief Commissioner in the chair, and Messrs Reid and Hughe..
A petition was read objecting to the sale of section 29, block 11.,' Maungatua. It was resolved that the land should not be sold.
The District Land Officer, Invercs rgill, wrote, asking that the application for section 7, block VIII., Toi-tois, be altered so as to make section 4, hlock V., the land applied for therein, the applicant having made a mistake as to the position of the land he wished to purchase. The alteration was a^ieed to.
. It was resolved that the Victorian Saw Mill Company, Tapanui, should pay a licensse fee on a 20 horse power engine for the* remainder of the year. The application of Mr G. T. -Mackay, to have an acre of land adjoining the western boundary of Roxburgh surveyed into sections for sale, was referred to the consideration of the Government.
The Board declined to grant Messrs Cox Brothers' application to purchase 20 feet frontage to River Place, Waipori.
Messrs Connell and Moodie, for MiEdward Murphy, applied for a lease of the sandspit at the mouth of the Clutha, and offering LlO per annum. A lease for seven years, at rental proposed, was granted under clause 64 of the Wnste Lands Act.
