IJf^HEREAS a Highway Rate of Sixpence Vt per Acre was approved of by the Otago General Road Board for this District, and the necessary notices and objections having been given and disposed of by the said Board, a Precept under the seal of the Board, dated the 27th day of July, 1865, was addressed to me, authorising the said Rate to be paid ta me ou or before the 2d day of October of said 3 r ear, of which full notice tyas given in this Journal: And whereas a considerable portion of said Rate still remains unpaid (which is the only reason that the Trustees cannot now put the District Roads into an efficient state of repair), Notice is Hereby Given, that all Rates unpaid to me on or before Wednesday, the 10th day of January, 1866, will be recovered as the law directs. CETTLERS in this Hundred, entitled to V take out Depasturing Licenses, are reminded that they require to do so before the Ist January, otherwise they will have no right to vote in the Election of Wardens for 1866. The possession of Land gives no right to Pasturage, unless a License is taken out for the Hundred in which it is situated. The License Fee for the year is only Teh ShillirtgSi'and is returned to the District to be expended—for the good of the Hundred.
