The market in the early part of the week was brisk, but at the latter part was dull, and less enquiries made for <ats aud potatoes. Buyers for oats decline to buy at 4s 6d, as the stock in the hands of the farmers is larger than was at first estimated. Closing quotations: —
Wheat— Nominal ; only a few loads brought forward, and realised, for fail samples, 7s 6d. per bushel.
■J-lour — Revived from last depression. Millers hold upon Ll ß. per ton. . Bran— Colonial scarce, L9 JOs to LlO per ton.
Uay — The greater part of oaten hay has been, bought up on speculation, and prices rule as high as L6 10* to L7 per ion, best quality. .Bye Grass and Clover do — Good samples, trussed, w Ufeich 1.5 5s per ton ' Chaff— Plentiful ; sales only effectfd f -r immc-. diate coi:su!ription,.as the prices iu Hokiiika have fal t-n to L2O per tou, the market being overstock: d. Oaie — The supply was limited, but the demand has not proportionately incie;»sed, a large quantity of maize having gone into ccn^umpuon. Closing prices from 4s 4d to 4s. 6d p6r busliel. Barley— For fowls' feed, 4s 3d j,er bushel : best samples, English, for nialting rjuiposes, wiil fetch 5s 3d per bushel. Potaioes— Move off ( blowlj\ at from L2 10s to L2 los per ton, cbiefiy for shipmeut.
