THE 'COLONEL' will stand to cover this next season, Ist October, at Moa-flat Station, adjacent to the Beaumont Ferry, Teviot Township, and Pomahaka. The Colonel is a daik chestnut, 7 years old, free from white, over 16 hands high, and is remarkably handsome, long, and powerful. He is by Copsack, out ot •Editth, by Emigrant. Cossack by Sir Hercules, out of Flora M'lvor, ,by Cap-a-pie, grandani Cornelia by Grasshopper, &c, both imported. Edith by Camerton out of Hebe, grandson by ' Hector, both imported. His •grahdsire, Sir Hercules, -was also sire of Coronation, Faugh-a-ballagh, Irish Birdcatcber, Knight 'of St George, Warlock, Daniel O'Rourke, Songstress, &c, all Derby and St. Leger winners in England. His grandson, Baron, is sire of Stockwell, and grandsire of Blair Atholl, Caller-ou, St Albans, and the Marquis, &c. Sir Hercules is by Whalebone, Waxy, Pot-8-os, by Eclipse, &c, ; thus comprising the purest and most successful racing strains of the present day. The Colonel ran well in Victoria, winning 9 in 13 of his races, has been two years at the stud, and has proved himself a sure foal-getter, his stock being stout and handsome. Terms, L 7 7s each mare, groom's fee included ; if more than three mares sent, the property of one owner, L 6 6*s each. A well-grassed paddock of 500 acres will be provided free of charge, for six weeksj and the proprietors guarantee that every attention will be ,paid, without responsibility.
