Friday, September Ist. (Before John Dewe, Esq., R.M.) ' Philip Hinds and Malachi Grady Avere charged by William Ferguson, Crown Lands Ranger, Avith unlawfully Cutting wood in the Tokomairiro Bush without a license. The charges Avere withdrawn,, the complainant stating that he believed some mistake had been made in the matter. ." Timothy Hinds was' charged with assaulting William Ferguson, Crown Lands Ranger. Mr Gillon for plaintiff; Mr Pini for defendant. It appeared that the defendant imagined he had home exclusive right to a part of the Bush, and that en plaintiff talking of cutting there, defendant threatened to strike him, and actually raised a stick to do so. Mr; Gillon said he did riot press for a penalty ; so defendant was fined ss. and costs. FertmsOnvT.
