The foundation-stone of the new spire of Chichester Cathedral has been laid. The restoration of the cathedral will cost £52,000, and £46,000 has been subscribed towards it. The Prettiest Girl in Town. —Of all the ingenious ways of raising money for the Sanitary Commisson, that divised by the people of the town of Catawassa, Pennsylvania, is probably the oddest. Th« male citizens agreed to decide by vote who was the prettiest girl in town, and it was declared in favor of Miss Hattie S. Reifsnyder by-a majority of 280.
