POST-MORTEM.

{To the Editor of the Bruce Ilerold.) Sir — Can you inform me whether it is usual to harrow the feelings of surviving relations, and to incur needless expense, by having a 'post-mortem' examination made of persons accidentally drowned ? In the case of poor Halley, who was so unfortunately drowned last week, although the. cause of death was perfectly evident and there was not a shadow of a suspicious circumstance about the affair, the Coroner ordered a.'postmortem' examination to be made. Surely there is no need for such a thing in cases of the sort. Yours, &c, . COFFIN.
