\ The House in committee had sanctioned the" , appropriation of 330,000 dollars for the cxi pense of the arrangements- on the frontier to prevent raids. It had also appropriated--50,000 dollars on account of the money refunded to the v Federal States- in the case ofrAhe St Alban's raiders. t^. ! The Upper House of the Canadian Paii.kment has decided by 45 to i& in favor of the' Confederation scheme.
