NEW HUNDREDS.

The General Government 'Gazette' contains a Proclamation by His Excellency the Governor, constitu.ing the following additional Hundreds in the Province of Otago. Awomoko Hundred, containing 76 square ■ miles, comprises all that area, bounded towards the north by Waitaki River, towards the east by the Oamaru Hundred, towards the south by the 45th parallel south latitude, and towards the West by a line from the said 45th parallel south latitude to t l ie Waitaki River at the Junction of the Maru-wenua stream. Kakanui Hundred, contains 81 square miles, comprises all that area, bounded on the north, by the 45th parallel of south latitude, towards ' the east by the Oamaru and Otepopo Hundreds, towards the south by a line due west, ' from the north east boundary of the Otepor/o Hundred, and towards the west by the meridian of Black Mill. Catlins Hundred, cotaining 96 square miles, comprises all that area bounded towards the north east by the Clutha Hundreds, towards north east by the Clutha Hundreds, towards south east by the Ocean, towards the west by : a line extending from the intersection of the ' Pnerua Stream, by the southern boundary line of the West Clutha Hundred, due south to the Ocean. Waikawa Hundred, containing 16 square miles, comprises all that area, bounded towards the north by an east and west line, four miles from the Mouth of the Waikawa River, towards the east by a north and south line to the Ocean, at a point 2 miles c st of the Mouth Waikaka River, towards the south by the Ocean, and iowar.ls the west by a line running due north from a point two miles west of the Mouth of the Waikawa River. Toetoe Hundred, containing 119 square miles, comprises all that area, bounded towards the north by the Kuriwas Streams, towards the east by the meridian line 162 ° east longitude, towards the south by the Tokanui Stream, and towards the west by the Mataura i River. Mokarela Hundred, containing 58 square miles, comprises all that area, bounded towards the north by the Mimihau Stream, towards the east by the meridian line 169 ° east longitude, towards the south by the Kuriwas Stream and towards the west by the Mataura River." Tutarau Hundred, containing 59 square mile, comprises all that area, bounded towards the north by theOtakaramu Stream, towards the east by the Waiariki Stream, and aline to the source of the Otakaramu Stream, towards the south by the Mimihn Stream, and towards the west by the Mataura River.

PRESBYTERY OF CLUTHA. This newly formed Presbytery held its first ordinary meeting- on the Ist instant, within Inch Clutha Church Sederunt. B.ev. Messrs. Bannerman, Todd, Uric, liivkland, Allan, and Messrs. Adam and Darling-, elders. „ , Mr Kirkland was unanimously elected Moderator, and Mr Bunnerman, clerk. ad hunc eff'ectum meeting- held at Warepa for the moderation of a call in favor of Mr Allan of Waihola, were read and approved of. The Presbytery took into consideration the call to Mr AUrn, signed, by 113 members and adherents, and sustained the same ; but in consequence of steps taken by Mr Allan to stay the presecution ot the call, it was resolved to desist proceedure in the matter, and to intimate to the Warepa and Katkiku cong-reg-ations tint the call , was fallen from. The Presbytery appointed Mr Bannerman to preach at Warepa and Kailiiku on Sabbath the sth instant, and intimate the decision of the Presbytery. Mr Todd reported that he and Mr Kirkand had held a meeting- with the cong-re-agtion at Lawrence, and communicated to them the resolution of the Presbytery of Otag-o aneut Mr Forsaith, and that a resolution had been passed at the said meeting- to the effect that the explanations given were satisfactory. Dr Copeland being- present, reported as to his labors at Tuapeka and Waitahuna, and Mr Todd was appointed to visit Tuapeka and Waitahuna, and to take the necessary steps for the forming- of a communion roll, and the dispensation of the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper. Messrs. Kirkland and Bannerman were appointed a committee to act in conjunction with the Presbyteries of Dunedin and Southland in procuring- a further supply of ministers. A resolution was adopted, recommending- ' the Trustees to have powers taken on the proposed new Trust, and to appropriate a portion of the funds of the Tmsfc to the bringing- out of ministers from Britain to the colony. It was resolved that the last Sabbath of March be observed as a day of special thanksgiving- for the abundant harvest now being- gathered in, and that on that day the collection appointed for defrayingpassage money of ministers be made in all the congregations within the bounds. Messrs. Bannerma.i and Kirkland were appointed a committee to consider and report anent Presbytery expenses. It was resolved that the Committee for the distribution of preachers be requested to continue Dr Copland at Tuapeka. It was ag-reed that the ordinary meetingof Presbytery be held on the third Wednesday of March, June, September, and December. That commissions of Elders be given in at the next ordinary meeting*, bearing- date till March next, and thereafter at the ordinary meeting- in March, commissions to appoint for twelve months. The Presbytery adjourned to meet within Inch Clutha Church on the third Wednesday of June next at 12 o'clock noon.
