ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
[press association.] . WELLINGTON','January 14. As a result of a taxicab accident early this morning, Garnet Caldwell, employed in the commercial department of the New Zealand Times, was injured about the head rather seriously and taken to the hospital. The exact nature of hjs injuries has not yet been ascertained. WELLINGTON, This Day. ' Eileen Leslie, aged 11, the daughter of the custodian of the' Town Hall, had a marvellous escape from severe injury;' yesterday. Rising early, she and the other children were playing on the 'flat roof of a building, when tile little girl ' jumped from the highest,part of the building on to a skylight, six feet below. The skylight was not sufficiently strong, and she crashed through, falling, over thiry' feet on to another sKyfight, where she was found in a semi-conscious , state a little later by her father. Shewas badly cut about the head, arms and ■ legs, but no bones were broken. She. was removed to the hospital.
