CHEAT RECEPTION IN ASHBUHTON.
tPREBS ASSOCIATION.] ASHBURTON, December o. Sir James Carroll addressed a packed meeting here to-night. The speaker said the Opposition had nothing to offer, but shreds and patches of Government policy, which it now presented adorned and decorated as a new policy. He ridiculed Mr Massey's manifesto, saying it was devoid of practical suggestions. Votes of thanks and confidence in the Government were carried amidst cheers.
