George William Palmer, of biscuit manufacturing fame, liis wife, and Mr Alfred Palmer, have, given £50,000 each ,to ondow a; University., at Reading, in view of., an application for a charter as an independent University. Mr G. Palmer gave a previous £50,000 in 1905. ■ ■
