The Nationalist members of the House of Commons met prior to the Coronation, and Mr Redmond predicted it would benefit the, Homo- Rule cause in England if the partv particiXaated in the ceremonies. Other Nationalists dissented, fearing the. bad effect of such action in Ireland. Thir-ty-three were in favor of attending and 29 against. Thereupon T. P. O'Connor emphasised the danger of cleavage. Hence it was resolved that the ceremonies be not attended.
