PALMERSTON NORTH SPORTS.
The Palmerston North Caledonian Sports to bo lield on Easter Monday on the Sports Ground promise to be a great success. Although the date of closing of entries is not till the 3rd of April, the secretary, Mr Munro, has already received over fifty from athletes in- all parts of thie (Dominion, which goes to show thie popularity of the asoeiation. These gatherings in the past have always toe-em su.'ccesstf'U'l, and the committeeiiiflff feed: that their efforts are toeing: rewarded. Tho leading pipers and dancers have intimated; their intentioiii of being p resent, and, ;p>ro.anisie thie committee, some very keen contests. The Society propose erecting two daninig boards this 1 year, as the large n limber oi ! entries could not toe finished in an afternoon on one dancing board. Tha 'eoimimit tee's efforts! in promoting these gatherings deserve to be 1 ' successful, and as our local 'Sports Ground, with, its surroundings' anakes an ideal picnic spot, and hot water and millik can ho procured far the asking, it behoves parents to give tine sports -a thought before daci'dinig om spending Easter out of town,. Given fine weather, this gathering promises to 'be tho most sucessful yet held under tho auspices of the Miannwatu and West Coast Caledonian Society. Entries for athletic events close, on Monday, April 3.
