WELLINGTON PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. FINALS TO BE PLAYED TO-DAY. [press association.] MASTER-TON, January 23. The Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Championships were continued to-day. The weather was beautiful and the courts played excellonlty. Those remaining in the events, the finals of which will be played to-mor-row, are: — Men's Championship Singles.—F. M. B. Fisher, H. Parker, L. Bonnington, G. Ollivier. Men's Championship Doubles. —C. C. Cox and G. G. Aitken play the winners of Parker and Brown and Cowan and Soundy.
Ladies' Singles—Miss Travers plays the winner of Miss Hartgill and Miss Nuimelev. Ladies' Doubles—The Misses Wellwood and Travers plays the- Misses Simpson and Nunneley. In the Combined Doubles Parker and Miss Travers play Fisher and Miss Wellwood. Miss Travers and Parker are in all the finals, both handicap and champion. MASTERTON, This Day. Tihe tennis tournament was continued to-day in glorious weather. Men's Champion Doubles (semifinals).—H. A. Parker (New South Wales) and H. W. Brown (AYellingto,n) heat D. Cowan (Hastings) and A. Sounds (Dannevivke), G—o, 6—o. Ijiuliies''Champion Doubles (finial). — Miss K. M. Nunneley and Miisfe Simpson (Wel'lington)- heat Miss E. Travers (Wielftngtan) and Miss It. M. Wellwiood (Hastings). 7—5, 6—3. Mien's Champion Singles (semifinals).—G. Oll.ivor (Ghristchiurdi) beat L. Bomuiigtoii (Cbristohurch), 6 4, 3—2. the latter retiring. H. A. Parker heat F. M. B. Fisher, 6—2, 2—6, 6—4.
