STOCK REPORTS. f&- ROSE, LIMITED. •J Rose, Ltd., report having held the following sales during the past fort-

night:— Monday, March 7, Ormondville stock sale.—Messrs Williams and Kettle and Dalgety's entries, together with our own filled all the sheep yards, in fact some of the cattle yards had to be used for sheep. There was a good attendance, and young sheep were most in demand. We quote as follows : —Sheep : Two-tooth wethers lis, breeding ewes 8s to 12s, old ewes 3s 6d. Cattle: Fat cows £3 18s, weaner steers and heifers 25 s.

Tuesday, March 8, Mrs C. J. Ericksen's clearance sale, Dannevirke.— Every lot was sold under the hammer at prices in favor of buyers. Saturday, March 12, Dannevirke horse sale.—This sale was one of the most successful we have held in our horse yards for some weeks past. On account of Mr Henry Gaisford we disposed of 20 lots of thoroughbred stock including yearlings, two and three-year-old colts and fillies, and mares with foals at foot. There was a large attendance' of -buyers present and competition for all Mr Gaisford's lots / were keen, every lot being sold under the hammer at prices varying from - 36Jgs. down to sgs ,which was considered by those concerned as being very satisfactory. On account of other vendors we sold a number of hacks and light harness horses at prices varying from £l6 down to £4; unreserved horses and crocks realised from £1 upwards. Monday, March , 14, Norsewood stock sale.—We had a good entry of sheep, nearly all lambs, but the doners' reserves were too high to allow much business to eventuate. There was only a moderate yarding of cattle, but bidding was extremely dull, ' hut we cleared several lines privately after the sale. W T e quote as follows: Fat cows £3 16s to £4, weaner steers and heifers 255, cows just calved £6, dry cows £2 to £2 10s. Friday, March 18, Dannevirke stock sale.—Yesterday we had a very heavy yarding of sheep and a good l entry of cattle. Young sheep all sold well, but old ewes were dull of sale, lmt with the exception of one line of sheep we are able to report a total clearance. Buyers of big cattle yesterday were conspicuous by their absence. We quote as follows:—Sheep: Four-tooth wethers lis 6d to 12s, 2tootli wethers 10s 5d to lis, s.m. ewes 8s 4d to 10s 4d, forward ewes 6s 8d to 7s 6d, old ewes 5s 3d, 4s 2d, 3s and 2s 6d, culled lambs 3s, Lincoln rams 1 guinea. Cattle: Fat bullocks £6 ss, fat cows £4 to £5, 2-}- to 3-year steers £4 12s 6d, 18-month to 2-year old steers £3, weaners 20s to 255, cows due at factory dates £3 to £4, store cows 30s to £2 ss. Pigs : Porkers 245, slips 10s to 12s, weaners 5s to 6s.

N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO., LTD.

The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their usual fortnightly sale held on Friday in Miller's road yards as follows: We offered a large yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle to a good attendance. The bulk of the sheep yarded were old and indifferent ewes, and bidding was anything but spirited for these. We quote : —Slieep : Forward ewes Bs, 2 and 4-tooth ewes

10s, old ewes 2s 6d to 5s Id, soundmouth ewes to 7s, lambs 4s 6d, 5s 6d, j> to 7s 9d. A line of 1000 4-tooth wethers were passed in at 12s Id, but we sold these after the sale. Hams, Lincolns lg, . Border-Leicester ligs. Cattle : Cows to £5 10s, fat cows £3 10s to £5 10s, steers £5, empty heifers £2 4s. H.B. FARMERS CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION, LTD. At Miller's road j T ards on Friday a large entry of sheep and cattle was submitted to a good attendance. Buyers were not much in evidence, and the bulk of the sheep offered being old ewes of inferior quality, prices were not very startling. However, a good clearance was made, and next sale we expect to see better prices. Cattle were very dull of sale. We quote as follows : —Fat heifers £4 5s to £4, cows £4 and £3 15s, 3-year steers £5, steers £4, 18-month • heifers £2 10s, bulls 35s and 30s; fat ewes 9s, store ewes 7s to 4s 6d, mixed age ewes 10s, s.m. ewes Bs, cull ewes 4s to 3s, shorn lambs 6s 3d to 5s 6d.

WILLIAMS AND KETTLE, LTD

Messrs Williams and Kettle, Ltd., report having held sales during the past week at Herbertville, Woodville and Dannevirlie.

At Herbertville on Saturday, 12tli, Ave held a clearing sale on account of Jesse Herbert, Esq., everything being disposed of at satisfactory prices. Dairy cows and heifers sold at good prices, realising from £4 los to £8 ss, horses brought frorn £o 10s to £l7 10s, "posts, timber, implements and sundries at ruling market prices.

At Woodville last Monday we had a big yarding of slieep and a few pens of cattle to offer and disposed of practically every line at satisfactory prices, values obtained being in advance of those received at sales in adjoining places. Quotations:—Twotooth wethers 10s to 12s, 2-tootli ewes (small )10s to 10s 6d, s.m. ewes 8s 3d to 9s Bd. f.m. ewes 6s 6d, old rams 12s 6d, fat cows £2 15s, woaners 295.

At Dannevirke on Friday we yarded close on 6000 sheep, over 5000 changing hands. Prices realised were not sis good as at previous sales, but the stock yarded was in most cases of very poor quality, which had a tendency to keep the values down. Cat-

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd.., report on their Dannevirke stock sale held on Friday:—A heavy entry of sheep and a medium yarding of cattle Avas submitted to a large attendance of buyers. Taken all round the quality of the offering was inferior and in consequence bidding was dull, although most of the lines changed hands. Woolly lambs sold at 7s Bd, shorn lambs 6s 2d, inferior 2s to 4s 6d, 2 and 4-tooth wethers lis, fat and forward ewes and wethers 9s, 2 and 4-tooth ewes 8s 7d to 10s 6d, 4year ewes 7s 6d to 9s 6d, 4 and 5year ewes 3s 6d to 5s 6d, Romney rams £ to 2gs, 18-month steers 42s to 525, fat heifers 80s, fat cows 80s to 93s 6d.
