TRENTHAM RIFLE RANGE.
Press Assn—By telegraph—Copyright, SYDJN.EY, March 20.
Mr Dakin, secretary of the Rifle Association, interviewed, said the Australian team had formed the opinion that Trentham is the trickiest range in the world. The team was puzzled and beaten entirely by the conditions prevailing during the recent meeting. The change in light and its effects on the elevation were such as they had never had the slightest experience of here. Under the prevailing conditions, they considered the score made by the New Zealanders would beat any team in the wox-ld. On any Australian range, he would not have the slightest fear with the same team which, under normal conditions here, would prove equalVto any JNew Zealand team.
The general appointments of the Trentham range were excellent, especially as regards telephone communication, which was so up-to-date that it put Australian ranges to shame.
