Yorkshire and Continental spinners are the chief operators. WOOL SALES. [press association.] NAPIER, January 20. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London office:— The wool sales continue firm and active, • with brisk- competition. As compared with closing rates of last series, greasy crossbred wools, suitable for America, show no improvement.
The Bank of New Zealand has received the following cable from ite London office, under date January 18 : The sales have opened with strong competition and a large attendance of buyers. There is an active demand by Home and foreign buyers. The market is strong for coarse crossbreds. Prices are higher 7£ per cent, to 10 per cent. The demand is active for coarse crossbreds. The market is strong for all kinds of merino., Prices are unchanged. The demand is active. The market is strong for aft kinds of sliped. Prices are unchanged; the demand is active. Current prices for North Island farmers' lots, Palmerston North style: coarse crossbreds 36/40's, quality average condition, lOd to lid per lb; medium crossbreds 44/46's, quality average condition, 12jd to 13d per lb; fine crossbreds of's, quality average condition, I3jd to 14|d.
