A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the committee of.the A. and P. Association was held at the office of the secretaries this morning, when there were present: Messrs T. Bain, D. M'Kenzie, M'Donald, Rose, King, Stuekey, Benton, Fairhurst, Featherston, Averill, Kilford, Graham, Rabhbone, Buick, Castles, Bickford, and Morrison. In the temporary absence of Mr Armstrong, president, Mr Rathbone was voted to the chair. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Gordon Lloyd, Hooper Smith, and Selby. On the reading of the minutes, Mr Rose raised objection to the fact that all the local blacksmiths had not been asked to tender for the gate fastenings. Mr Rathbone explained that Mr Thorburn was the lowest local tender for the hinges, and as his tender had not been accepted for them, it was thought right to accept his tender for the fastenings. Mr Rose contended that as the town was supporting the show, every one should have a chance to tender for the association's work. Mr Rathbone explained that the prices had been submitted to the Ground Committee, and what had been done had been done with the sanction and approval of the committee. He had not done it off his own bat. He further explained that all the blacksmiths in town had been asked to tender, but only four had put in tenders. Mr Rose remarked that some had not tendered because they knew what the price was, and thought it was all cut and dried. Personally he' knew pretty well what the price was. Mr Castles replied that the whole of the prices had been put before the committee, and the whole matter had been approved by the committee. The tenders received were read, and the discussion then dropped. It was resolved to ask all the School Committees within a radius of Maharahara, Ormondville, and Weber, to grant a public holiday on show day. The secretary reported that the president and himself had waited on the Auctioneers' Association, and arranged the terms on which the Ram Fair would be conducted. The draft rules were read. A long discussion ensued on the question of the association's share of the expenses, and finally Mr Bickford moved that a sub-committee consisting of the president, the two vice-pre-sidents, Mr Buick, and secretary be appointed to arrange the details with the auctioneers. The following sub-committee was appointed to generally manage the Ram Fair:—Messrs M'Kenzie, M'Donald, Stuekey, Benton, Graham, Kilford, Averill, Castles, and the officers ex officio. CORRESPONDENCE.
