Elizabeth Beresford, aged forty and unmarried, died suddenly at Christchurch on Saturday night. On Saturday evening Christian Vecht, a foreigner, about 6/ years of age, fell down a steep and narrow staircase at a boarding-house in Mac-Laggan-streot, Dunedin. at which he bad been lodging, and Mas so soA'erely injured that he died before medical assistance could be obtained.
