WHETUKURA. The Board of the Waikopiro Institute met on Saturday, loth inst. Present: Messrs Barker, Warmington (secretary), E. Clegg, Smith, W. Chad wick, P. A. Ellingham and J as. W. Ellingham (chairman). A letter was received from Mr Hall, enclosing a donation of £l, and regretting that he will be unable to atttend the annual meeting. A hearty vote of thanks Mas accorded Mr Hall. The secretary reported a credit balance of £S 12s 4d on general account, and £7 12s lid on library account; also stating that lie had received a letter from the Education Department, saying that no provision had been made this year for subsidising libraries. The institute, building is insured for £270, furniture £4O, piano £25, library books £65. The secretary then read a draft report for the annual meeting, which was adopted as read. The annual meeting was fixed for January 22, 1910. NORSEWOOD. The Rev. James M'Caw, of Knox Church, Hutt, occupied the pulpits yesterday at Ormonclvillc in the morning,"' Takapau in the afternoon, and here in the evening, at each place there being, I understand, good congregations. ORMONDVfLLE. The cricket team to represent the local club in their match against Dannevirke A here next Saturday will be selected from the following:—Vivian, M'Farlane, Fayen (2), White, Speedv, Barrie, Sharpin, Woenink, D. Pcdwaid, T. Hosking, ,P. Oisen, Collins, Wiseman and Freeman.
