COUNTRY CORRESPONDENCE.
[OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAKAPAU. The local Tennis Club travelled to Onga Onga on Wednesday and engaged in a frienldy match. The afternoon was somewhat showery, and prevented all the games from being played off. Takapau had a weak team, and were rather easily beaten. Afternoon tea was served by the Onga Onga lady players in a very hospitable manner. Farmers are very busy harvesting, and are finding some trouble in getting laborers, as all the crops have come on at once. Building still continues to be brisk, in spite of six new dwellings having been built within this last few weeks. It is expected that other six will be begun or constructed before another six months have passed. Farmers here are jubilant over the price of tlieir lambs' wool. One farmer here realised 28s per acre on his wool alone.
