ALLEGED THEFT OF PIANOS.

[press association.] WELLINGTON, This Day. Edward John Falkiner, at the Magistrate's Court to-day, was charged with stealing three pianos belonging to the London and Berlin. Piano Company. The thefts are alleged to have taken place between May and December of last year. Accused Avas in the employ of the Telegraph Department for 25 years, and has a fail* amount of property. His counsel said he had a good defence. The question was simply one as to a consignment of pianos, whether : they were consigned to the company or.to defendant, .as the company's servant. Accused was remanded on bail till next Wednesday.
