A SENSATIONAL FIND IN AN OLD DIGGER'S CAMP. BY N.Z. TOURISTS. The following sensational and remarkable story has come to light regarding the pioneer hardships of our early history. Two well-known New Zealanders, Mr Moreton and Mr Hall, solicitor, of Invercargill, whilst on a holiday trip" exploring the majestic beauties of our far-famed cold lakes, and mountainous scenery at the head of Lake Wakatipu, successfully neI gotiated the 4300 ft. of height of tlie famous Lake Harris Saddle. It was ; in the vicinity of the saddle that they 'came across the remains of an old digger's camp, and being similarly constituted to other mortals they naturally fossicked for curios. It nvnst be remembered that this old digger's camp was 4300 ft. above sea level, surrounded by mountainous bush .country, more than 50 miles from the nearest store, to make the following extraordinary find the more remarkable when one considers that every article of diet, clothing, utensils, etc., had to be carried the above height and distance with accompanying hardships. These gentlemen fossicked in this old camp, and, remarkable as it may seem, they relate that they discovered an empty bottle of Baxter's Lung Preserver — this was in the year 1884-5. , This old digger most probably staked his life in this lonely spo| to the merits of. this famous cure for coughs and and other serkras chest complaints. Baxter's Lung Preserver was not only famous in 1884 for curing coughs and colds quickly, but to-day is still recognised as the one remedy that gives a marked and rapid cure.
