[OWN CORRESPONDENT.) ; ' The first annual sheep dog't'rial was held at Oruasvbaro station, the paddocks being kindly, granted by Mr S. Johnston, on the 2nd and 3rd of June. The weather was somewhat cold and windy, but in no way killed the enthusiasm, -which is being taken in this new venture. The secretary, Mr J. Pourie, had every thing well in 'hand, and not a hitch occurred during the whole proceedings. Special praise is due to Mr R. Thorn, for having been the originator of the club, and the indefatigable way in which. he has worked for its success. The" others to whom the club is * indebted for the way in which they worked are: Messrs Paulsen, W, Hobson, D. Taylor, C. Thorn, J. Tuohy, J. A.- McL'eod. The Oruawharo manager, Mr Jas. Leithead, gave the grounds, hurdles, sheep, and all other things which .the club required.
