MUNICIPAL THEATRE
(To the. Editor.)
' In the columns of the last two issues of your valuable paper, two letters have appeared by "Front Seat", and "Back Seat," and many good reasons were put forward why Dannevirke should have a municipal theatre. There are also other reasons. In the Drill Hall, whether you pay for a front seat or back, or middleseat, you have only the bare boards to sit on, whereas, in a theatre the front seats are cushioned chairs; middle seats have padded forms, and back seats plain according to prices paid for admission. Then, again, the Drill Hall is very cold in winter time and a theatre is cosy. There is little doubt about ratepayers voting in favor of a theatre when about 14,000 people attended the Besses o' th' Barn Band; and all large companies are greeted with large audiences. Thanking you in anticipation. — I am, etc. MIDDLE SEAT.
