The first day of the above Club's summer meeting was commenced, at the Makirikiri course this afternoon. The attendance is- very fair, consider- ; ing the heavy rain* which commenced to fail at 12 o'clock: All the arrangements for the. meeting are well forward, and Mr Freeman has the secretarial work well in hand.
