DANNEVIRKE v. PAHIATUA.
A team of 10 players from the Da nnevirko, Tennis Club journeyed to Pahiatua yesterday to try conclusions with the latter club. The weather was perfect from a tennis point of view, and a number of keenly-fought games were witnessed. Interest "in the contest was sustained even until the last stroke of the day had been played, as the resxilts prior to the concluding set had given each sido ten "sets, everything depended on the 'final set, which was even to eight games, and finally went to Pahiatua at 9—B, thus winning <tho match for them. The visitors were entertained at luncheon by the members of the Pahiatua Club, and greatly enjoyed tlio day's outing. The approximate results of the matches are- as under: — Men'slSingles. Dannevirke, 3 sets Pahiatua 3 sets Ladies' Singles. Dannevirko, 2 sets Pahiatua 2 sets Men's Doubles. Dannevirke, 1 set Pahiatua 2 sots Combined Doubles.
