A NEW ZEALAND PROPOSAL. AUCKLAND ENTHUSIASTIC. [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, yesterday. At a largely attended meeting of the Auckland Amateur "Athletic Club," held to-night, it was decided to hold a Now Zealand Marathon race of a distanco not exceeding 15, miles, to take place in March next. The meet.ing was.most enthusiastic, and points to a revival of amateur athletics in Auckland. It was suggested that the prize for the Marathon race bo a silver laurel wreath. It was also decided to.apply to the- New Zealand "Athletic Association for permission to hold the race. About 40 new members were proposed for thp Auckland Club, the annual meeting of which will be held on Deoember 14th. :
