Then tho Americans annexed ihe> succeeding two, but the fifth was won by tho Australians amidst great excitement and enthusiasm. Wilding's driving was magnificent, and Brooks played with great judgement and his 7 smashing was a great success down the centre of the court. In the fifth set America led by two to love. The excitement was intense, and,..! every stroke was cheered. Gradually .Australasia worked up enthusiasmi, adding five games to the addition of one by America. 5 — 3. Then. Wright won his- service. ; In the tenth game, with Wilding serving, Australasia led 40 — 15, but ho double faultercd and tho Americans thus annoxed two' more aces but lost the .next .three .and the match went to Australasia! ; Four thousand, including Lady Dudley, witnessed the struggle.
