WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALE.
The Hawke's Bay Farmers' Cooperative Association report On their Dannovirke* sale as follows: — At our periodical sale of wool, skins, hides, etc., held on. 3rd inst., wo catalogued 83 bales and bags of wool, 1650 skins, llt>o calf skins, 300 hides, 6 casks and 60 tins of tallow, horsehair, bones, etc. There was a : representative attendance of buyers, and the whole of our catalogue was cleared at full current rates. Tho enquiry for wool, especially for scouring lots, was keen, and very satisfactory prices were realised. Wo quote: Dingy and coarse crossbred fleece 4|d to old,, dead wool 2J-d, 33d, 4id, 42d, crutchings 23d, to 43d. .Sheepskins : Coarse crossbred 4d to 4£d, fine 5d to sid, dead 4d, damaged 2£d to 3Ad; quarter and half wool 3£d to 3jd, inferior Id to 2id, salted pelts Is to Is 4d each, green skins to 4a Id. Hides: Medium and heavy ox s|d to 5-2 d, light 3fd to 4d, cow 3#d, 4',d to 4-Jd, cut hides 33d, slippy l£d to 3£d, ox, green' 17s- 6d to 22s 6'fl, cow (green) 14s "to 16s 6d. Calfskins: Sound s}d, sfid to 6Jd, cut and slippy : : 3|d to 4^d. Yearlings: Sound 4|d) cut and slippy lid to 3sd. Tallow : Casks 21s 9d per cwt, tins 10s 9d to 19s. Bones, Is 6d per cwt.
