TO STAND THIS SEASON AT "TAHORAITI." The Clydesdale Stallion, ALEXANDER MCKENZIE 11. ALEXANDER McKENZIE IL was foaled October, 1902, at "Longbeach," and is by Alexander's Heir, dam Lena, by Sir William Wallace. 2nd dam Queen by Lord Beaconsfield. 3rd dam Starke's "Kate," by Marquis, imported from Scotland. Sir William Wallace was bred by Fleming and Hedley, of Oamaru, and was champion horse there, and sold for 600 guineas in the days when horses were cheap. Lord Beaconsfield was champion of InvercargUl, and Alexander's Heir was first and champion at Ashburton as a 3yr old. His sire, St. Alexander, imported from Scotland, dam Pearl, full sister to Mr Matthew Holmes' Crown Prince, being by Lord Salisbury (imported at a cost of 1400 guineas), out of "Damsel," imported from Scotland. As a 4yr old this mare took the gold medal for the best Clydesdale on, the ground, beating all* stallions at the Highland show, Glasgow. St. Alexander was by St. Laurence, the latter by^old "Prince of Wales," who was sold in Scotland for 800 guineas when 19 years old. The public can see some 50 colts and fillies at Tahoraiti, the progeny of McKenzie 11., and judge for themselves. Only a limited number of mares can be taken this season. TO Travel the Season between Woodville and Dannevirke, the chestnut Trotting Stallion, ROYALTY, By Imperial (Imperious — Fairy), out of Whitelyn (Brooklyn— Whitefeet). Imperial won his heat in the Juvenile Stakes, which event was won by his. half .brother Dictator.. He also won races in saddle and harness at Auckland and Wellington. Fairy was a very fast mare, having won races at Auckland, Addington and Wellington. Brooklyn was bred by Mr Mace, of New Brighton, and is a very fast horse; he is a half brother to that great horse Almont, who holds the record of 2.12£ for a mile and 6.50 for three miles, the latter being a world's record. Whitefeet was an imported mare, and won. races all over New Zealand. Royalty is a good tempered horse, and with his breeding can be depended upon to leave something good; he is a sure foal-getter. GLEN GOWRIE is a brown horse, 16 hands, showing great promise as a sire ; is a full brother to Lass o' Gowrie, a winner of many races. He is a grandson of the great St. Simon.
