IN BANKRUPTCY.
♦ ESTATES OF J. J. PATTERSON, SOLICITOR, ALSO TRADING AS SAvv MILLER AND WYLIE AND CO. A meeting of creditors in the above estates was held at the office of the-D.O.A. this afternoon, when there was a large attendance of creditors. The special business was to confirm a special resolution carried at a meeting of creditors held on 2nd September, 19uo, as follows: That Mr J. J. Patterson's offer of 5s in three months, 2s 6d in six months, 2s 6d in nine months, and 2s 6d in twelve months be accepted, payments to be secured by promissory notes given by bankrupt and endorsed by Mrs Lavinia Patterson. The bankruptcy to be annulled ,and that all previous resolutions carried at this meeting be rescinded." ■ On this the D.O.A. submitted the following report: From my examination of the estates, and from enquiries made concerning Mrs Patterson's financial standing, I recommend the acceptance of the debtor's offer as above. The D.O.A. read a lengthy report in which he stated that he had been collecting the book debts in the business of Wylie and Co., and was carrying on that biisiness as economically as possible. He had not made any investigation of the books pending the acceptance or refusal of Mr Patterson's offer. He had received Mr Patterson's offer of 12s 6d in the £ in writing,, and Mrs Patterson's agreement to endorse bills for the amount. With regard to Koru he had not been able to get much information, but he had summoned Mi: R... G. Paterson to attend to give what information he could, and there were several Koru creditors present who. might be able to give the meeting some additional information. (Left sitting.)
