GOOD ADVICE.
- Man, know thyself-^is advice but too_y>ften neglected. ' Every man should have practical knowledge of himself, and how to treat the many ailments that lie in wait for him. Don't put off the study of at least the first principle of medicines till you or some of your loved ones are sick. Always be ready to take the stitch .in time. For this purpose keep a family medicine chest and make yourself acquainted with the properties of each medicine; this will give you confidence in using them. We would also recommend the friendship of a doctor in whom you haye confidence,* for it, is not always desirable for a man to be his own doctor any more than his own lawyer. It is best, however, to prevent the need of either by walking discreetly.
