« A PROTEST. [PKKSS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, To-day. The Trades and Labor Council has resolved to bring under the notice of the Postmaster-General the fact that telegraph messengers worked 15 hours at Ninas and four hours on Xmas and j Boxing Days, and expressing deep regret that- Government, who had* placed laws on the statute book ameliorating the condition of the workers, was sweating its employees. The Council also decided to protest against the inmates of the proposed Salvation Army homo at Bell's Island being allowed to compete on equal terms with the local fishermen.
