THE MANAKAU SEAT.

(Press Association.)

Arcxi-AND, This day. Mr Lang, a candidate for Manakau, addressed a meeting at Tamaki last night, Mr Massey presiding. Mr Lang approved the action of ihe Farmers' Union in regard to the Land Bill. He had always advocated the leasehold, with the right to acquire the freehold, -as the system suited the poor man. He received a vote of thanks' and confidence. „ Mr Massey then said that at- no ' time in the history of the colony had it r been so necessary -to elect able strong honest men toParhament! Prosperity covered a multitude of sins. An era of extravagance appeared to have set in.' The tendency of the Government seemed to place itself under control of the Socialistic section of the House, with the result that such measures as the Land Bill were' introduced.
