♦ School Committee* The ordinary monthly meeting of the above school committee was held on Saturday evening, when all the members were present. Correspondence was dealt with, of which the following was from the Education Board : Re appointment of mistress, "stating that no applications had been received, and suggesting that Miss Waters should continue her dutiss at the school until the end of the year, when fresh applications would be invited. From the same, in reply to the committee's application for a grant re fencing, metalling, etc., stating that £35 bad been voted by the Board providing that that all the work specified was carried out to the satisfaction of the Board's architect. The committee decided to go on with the fence, and call for applications for the work at once. An account for 10a 6d was received, but not dealt with, as the committee thought that the item 9s 6d for shifting tank overflow was too high. The report of the teaching staff was read, and stated that the school was progressing fairly well ; that the average attendance for the past three weeks was 66 ; also drawing the attention of the committee to requisites required for the use of the school, amongst others a clock, clubs, dumbbells, etc. The report was adopted, and it was decided to leave the question of purchasing the above articles till next meeting of the committee, to be, held on October 27th. It was also decided to call for appli*catians for cleaning the school for the ensuing quarter, applicants to find all tkeir own gear for the above purpose. It was also decided to alter the date of meeting to the last Saturday in th* month, so that it will fit in better with the Board meetings. There being no further business the meeting adjourned, with a vote of thank* to the chairman. .
