CARD-PRICKING ON THE UNO BILL

. * A card has been very carefully pricked iby several members with a view to seeing how the Government would stand in •a division upon the Land Bill. According to the estimate made the Govern>ment supporters who are expected to stand by the land policy of the Governl. aaent are the following : — E. G- Allen, :Arnold, Barber, Barclay, Buddo, CarToll, Colvin. Datey. Duncan, Ell, Fisher, Flatman. FowMs, Graham, Gray. Hall--Jonea, Hanan, Hogan, Hogg, Hornsby, .leard, Laurenson, Lawry, .jkl'Gowan, 'M'Lachlan, M'Nab,,M*epber«.ou, Millar, Mills, Poole, Seddon, Sidey, Btallworthyy --ißteward, Tanner, Thomson, Ward, Witty, and Wood. To these thirtynine members may be added the four Maori members (who would almost certainly support the Government in a ■crucial division), and Mr J. G. W. AitJcen, an Opposition member, who has al•ways strongly supported the leasehold •-syßtem. This makes a total of forty* tfour members in support of the Government's land policy, and leaves .thirtj r five on the other aide,_ composed of twenty-one Independent or Government, and fourteen Opposition members. The Goverment or Independent members thus given to the Opposition by the cardpnckers are as follow :— Bautne, Bennett, Dillon. Field, A. L. D. Fraser, Greenslade, Hall, Houston, Jennings. ■ Kidd, R.
