A MINISTER RESIGNS.
«. (Per Press Association,') By Electric Telegraph— Copyright. Melboubne, August 15. The scene between Mr Murray and Mr Bent resulted in the resignation of the Minister. Speaking in reply to the Premier, Mr ' Murray said that he accepted the ; Premier's suggestion and readily resigned the charge of what seemed a very imperfect bill. He concluded : ' •' I resign my position as Minister of Lands and do so altogether without regret." He then walked out of the ; chamber. ! Mr Bent announced that be would go on with the Bill. After making a little progress the ' House adjourned, and Messrs Bent and ] Murray subsequently conferred. '
