(Press Association.) ■Wellington, October 23. The Bible-in-Schools League hda issued a manifesto. It says :-♦' It is clear nothing can be obtained from the Premier nor from Parliament till members are convinced that the Bible-in-Schools question is a serious one. The question it is proposed to submit to the electors in the event of a plebiscite being taken is a» follows:— "Are you ,in favour of the proposal that, subject' to a conscience clause, the public schools shall be opened daily with the Lord's Prayer, and: that in such schools Bible lessons shall be given to children by teachers during school hours, the teacher's duty being strictly confined to explaining the dictionary mealing of words and to seeing that the children remember what they have read." The text book, says the manifesto, ii a modified form of that used in Victoria, and it has received the approval of a committee consisting of the: Ministers and laity of every Protestant Church in the colony.
