The Dannevirke Band rendered sweet music during the day, and notwithstanding that the rain had maie the roads somewhat soft the attendance was very satisfactory, everyone appearing to thoroughly enjoy themselves. A full report will appear on Monday. On our sth page to-day appears an attractive advertisement insertfid by Freeman and Wallace, the well-known Australian specialists. The advertisement has special reference to their medical work " Clinical Experiments," a copy ot which will be torwarded to every applicant free of post. A full review of the work will appear in a future issue, but m the meantime every reader should send for a copy and peruse it for themselves. Finch and Lamb, architects, advertise for alterations and additions to Mr Edgar's house at Umutaoroa. Disastrous bush fires are raging in the Waikiekie district (Auckland), and several settlers have had their pastures burned.
