THE WEATHER.
Per Press Association. . ; Dttnedis, January 6. Shearing has been greatly hindered in the back country by snow, hail, and bitterly cold rain. Shearers have been scarce, and one country correspondent says that in his district only the large sheds are being worked under the Arbitration Court's award. Shearers demand 20s per 100 for flocks up to 1000, and 16s 8d for flocks up to 5000. There has been the usual trouble with wet sheep, and the men care no more f6r the award than if it were so much waste paper. :.■.'"•;/ , The weather conditions are improved, [ but the wind still keeps from the south. I Captain xEd win telegraphed to-day — Moderate to strong westerly winds. Glass rise. •
