The French ship Haiulauaine, 3000 tons, with a cargo of nickel ore for Glasgow, after being towed out of Kone, drifted during the night on to a reef between Cape Goalvin and Contrarieto Island. The captain and live of the crew were brought to Murco, and the mate and remainder of the crew arrived at Bonrail. The ship is considered a total loss.
