War Operations will Continue
(Received this day, at 7.38 a.m.) London, January 4. The Russians think the capture 0* Port Arthur has cost Japan 200,000,000 yen. It is believed the rendezvous of th 0 Baltic squadrons will be Diegosaurez. The Standard states that Admiral Togo intends to force the Baltic fleet to fight or return to Europe. He is ready to advance a considerable distance to meet Admiral Rozhjestvensky. The Novoe Vretnya says the British ships are shadowing the Baltic fleet in order to disclose the movements to Japan, and adds :— "The least cause may provoke consequences akin to the North Sea mcidenU" Baron Hayashi states that no armistice is contemplated, and operations will continue. The Russian press dwell on the heroic character of the defence of Port Arthur, and asserts the sacrifice was not in vain. . \ ±
