<t> : (Per Press Association.) Pahiatua, This Day. On Saturday night heavy showers of rain fell in all parts of the district, and checked the fires in the country yesterday. This morning the country was apparently free from fires. The rainfall has replenished the water supply in tanks. Another week's dry weather would have produced a water famine in the borough.
