Stock Market.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows : — At Levin on Friday we had a small yarding of sheep, but the cattle pans were well filled. Generally the quality of the stock yarded was anything but good, and considering their poor condition food prices were realised. Heifers were scarcely so much in dsinand as a fortnight ago.
At Palmerston yesterday only two or three pens of sheep came forward, but we had a large muster of cattle, close on 800 being yarded. These were mainly of good quality aud included a line of good quality store bullocks on account of Mr J. It. McDonald, also some nice quality Shorthorn cattle oa account of Messrs Pascal Bros. Tha long deferred warm weather had an appreciable effect on the sale. There was a large attendance and spirited bidding. The bullocks yarded met with keen competition and the bidding for Messrs Pascal Brog.' stock was brisk. Some nice quality Shorthorn heifers in calf, bred by Mr Donald Fraser, made £1 2s 6d.
